Remix of “Lully, Lulla, Lullay.”
Something I do to relax is to manipulate music & sound recordings with software to achieve what the kids these days call a remix. I’ve made dozens and dozens of audio tracks. Urgent Chutney is my little joke name for myself when I do this stuf.
I wanted to do something with one of my favorite pieces of music, Philip Stopford’s “Lully, Lulla, Lullay,” a version of the Coventry Carol. The recording by the vocal group VOCES8 is so very good and the YouTube video of it is below.
I used the original recording, of course. Did edits and some re-arranging. Slowed the tempo down electronically, retaining the pitch of the main track but adding 2 tracks an octave lower. The change in tempo makes the singing wordless.
I hope you enjoy listening to it and to the original.
